New Year, New Country (or remnant thereof)

I'm told that the year has changed again. What is it now, 1642? Also, my computer tells me that January has nearly ended. Here's a blog post to celebrate.

We stayed quietly at home for Christmas, and then New Year's.

I graded a lot of essays, then wrote a conference paper, then went to Belfast to deliver said conference paper. I. did a lot of online tutoring.

I lost my camera battery, and my spare battery died, but I did manage three pictures of Belfast in the meantime. Here they are:

My paper went quietly by one afternoon, with an underwhelming critical reception. Similarly, I saw almost nothing of Belfast, and confess that I wasn't very overwhelmed or impressed by the bits I did see.

I've finished the first draft of my thesis. Much revising remains to be done, but I finally have a stopping point. Also, I have another camera battery (received today).

Finally, the semester has begun again, and I am enjoying my online course in particular.

January is ending shortly, and I would like to be asleep in bed before February arrives.
