In our neighbourhood (Leith) it isn't unusual for residents visiting one of the nearby shops to tie their dogs up outside the doors. Tonight as I made a quick dash to the discount grocery shop, there were three miserable pups tied up in the square, but this one was by far the most disheartened, and quite vocal about his distress as well.
Poor pup... I can tell by the droop of his ears. He reminds me of my Caesar dog, who was the longest-lived of all of my childhood pets.
ReplyDeleteHis howls were pitiful, and I'm not even usually all that sympathetic to dogs. However, it seems to be the custom here; there's almost always a dog waiting outside the discount supermarket, though many of them seem fairly calm about their owners' absences.
